Backlink Profit Monster Review: It Can Help You Spy On Your Competition

Backlink Profit Monster that is a pretty slick software package that shows you the backlinks that your biggest competitors have accumulated to achieve their page rank so that you can post your link to those same sites. There are other SEO software packages that performs similar functions, such as the latest version of Traffic Travis and SEO Elite, but none of them also allow you to export all the backlinks to your desktop.

It's easy to see who your top competitors are for any given keyword. Just type the keyword into the search engine and there they are, but it take special software to uncover the backlinks that helped your competition achieve their superior page rank. That's what Backlink Profit Monster will do for you. There all various reasons that some sites achieve higher page rank and among those are domain age, on-page SEO plus a whole host of off-page SEO tactics, but quality backlinks is certainly a big piece of that off-page SEO puzzle.

So how does Backlink Profit Monster work? First off, it runs with the Yahoo API so there is no need for proxies. Once the software is installed, you can open up Google inside the software so that you can manipulate the data. Once that is accomplished you can then:

  • Identify the top 10 competitors.
  • Analise their backlinks to determine which ones were the reason for your computers high page rank.
  • Create and export a list for you to easily post your link to the most important sites.

So the software does a good job in uncovering some very important competitive backlink information and then goes a step further and compiles it for exporting, but it does not provide commenting software. You still will need to go into each site to manually write a comment and leave your link. The developers of Backlink Profit Monster suggest that their next version will include commenting software, but from what I see most of this software is just a ticket to spam.

In the training video's the trainer made some recommendations on how to leave a comment on a site. He said that you should substitute your keyword for your name and leave a bogus e-mail address. I couldn't disagree more. There is a thing called comment etiquette which is alive and well and should be respected. Most comments need to be moderated and approved manually and using a keyword instead of a name just doesn't cut it any more. When leaving a comment it's important to use the blog hosts name, if available, and to post a comment that increases the value of the topic. Comments such as "nice blog dude" or "thanks for the information" aren't quality comments. If you're going to the trouble of blog commenting to increase backlinks, then you want to spent an extra minute to leave a solid comment. You can even ask the blogger a question that makes it clear that you've at least looked at his site before heading right for the comment section.

The word on the street regarding Backlink Profit Monster suggests that the software does what it says it will do. This software will allow you to export all the backlinking information that makes it very easy for you to post comments to the site that you have determined will provide the best link juice. It can be purchased for a one-time charge of $97.
